Granola Preparation
Alternative Way
Ahhh, there's nothing like homemade granola. It can be used dry as a snack, to sprinkle over your favorite cereal or baked to make bars.
Here's a granola recipe that makes about 6 servings. Just let your imagination go when you're making granola. The basic ingredients are as follows:
- 2 tablespoons grapeseed or expeller-pressed canola oil
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds
- 1/2 tablespoon orange zest
- 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
Here are some tips on getting your granola to taste as delicious as it can be:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Put everything except the cinnamon in a large bowl and stir until thoroughly coated.
- Turn out onto a greased baking pan with a rim and spread out the ingredients.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon on top and bake for 20 minutes, moving everything around until the oats are evenly brown.
- Let cool 5 to 10 minutes. Store in a zip-lock bag in the freezer until ready to eat.
Then simply enjoy. Crunch, crunch!
